Venue Instruments is a set of portable field instruments made for Geoff Manaugh and Nicola Twilley’s research journey across North America. Mounted on customized surveying tripods, the devices reinterpret tools for observing a landscape, including a very-low-frequency earth radio receiver, a Dürer grid and radar reflectors. The set moves between practical measurement and poetic ways of attending to a place.
