Mark

Chris Woebken Studio is a design futures research practice residing on the traditional and unceded land of the Lenape also known as Brooklyn, New York. The studio examines the potential of design for discussing new imaginaries around complex social, technological, and ecological challenges. We aim to develop projects that help communities build their sense of agency and competency around visioning possible futures to explore complex social scenarios. The studio develops special commissions with cultural organizations including numerous free public programs. Collaborative studio projects are held in private and museum collections, including the MoMA Permanent Collection and Nevada Museum of Art.

Chris is currently teaching at Fordham University and Parsons School of Design.  Previously he was a research associate at the MIT Media Lab, Original Minds Scholar at Dalton School and a Faculty Fellow at Parsons Urban Systems Lab. He has experience teaching in K-12 contexts up to college-level within public and private schools such as CUNY City Tech, Columbia GSAPP, NYU, RISD, SVA, P.S. 147 and UPenn.
